The City of New Britain, Connecticut  Great changes in the physical appearance of New Britain's commercial district and several neighborhoods took place in the late 1960s  and early 1970s as a result of urban renewal and highway construction projects.  Older residents will look with nostalgia the photos  displayed here depicting the "Hardware City" as it once was.
