                                       Our Hometown
                              New Britain, Connecticut

New Britain, located approximately nine miles from the state capital in Hartford and near the geographical center of the State of Connecticut is undisputedly New England's most Polish city.  Continued migration from Poland over the last 120 years has kept the Polish language, traditions, customs (and the cuisine!) alive in the "Hardware City of the World."

Below are some links which give capsule histories of our local Polish community as well as the three areas of Poland that are the ancestral places of origin of many of our families.  Name oriented databases (some fee based) are included as well, which will help you find clues to your Polish ancestry on both sides of the ocean.

An article in the Hartford Courant written some years ago stated "You leave New Britain. You never leave its heart."  Explore our resources and start your journey back home......
